Peter Himler serves as President of the Publicity Club of New York, the oldest ongoing organization for PR professionals in the country. He’s a regular speaker on media/tech/marcomms at the Web Summit (Lisbon) and Collision Conferences (Canada), and chairs the Marketing Advisory Council for Tufts University, from which he holds a BA in Political Science and French.

In addition to his Medium publication “Adventures in Consumer Technology” and his past work for Forbes.com,  Peter regularly contributes to a range of industry outlets, including his most recent pieces in PR Week “Bluesky to beehiiv: Early 2025 is time to get up to speed on earned media’s new world” and PR News “Breaking Into Podcasts: Media Relations Tools.”  

He was featured in Authority Magazine on how to “create a highly successful career in public relations.” He also was selected by AlwaysOn Media as a “Power Player in Business & Technology Media.” PR News named him PR Professional/Media Relations Executive of the Year, while PR Week cited his work on the program to build the National World War II Memorial as its Public Sector Campaign of the Year.

Peter named him to the #Propel100 list of Top 100 Most Influential PR Agency Professionals in the World, and BuzzSumo named him as the 6th most influential PR professional from the list of “The Top 100 PR Influencers to Follow.”

Peter’s blog, The Flack, has earned a PR News Platinum Award as the year’s best blog and a SXSW Hive Award as best PR/Marcom blog. He’s been named to Ad Age’s Power 150 Blogger, and Twitter Power 150, and has he has advised Social Media Week and the Center for Communication.
